Grupo Edefa's yearbook devotes two pages to RF Española under the title "Sovereign Tactical Communications". The feature covers the CPSTIC approval of GESCOM VCS G5/G5A and the TACNET ecosystem.
The 2026 Defensa e Industria en España Yearbook, published by Grupo Edefa, includes a feature on RF Española on pages 130 and 131, written by journalist Luis Pujalte. The article presents the company as a leading player in encrypted tactical communications. Its strategy is based on open, interoperable and resilient architectures for the Spanish Armed Forces and the State Security Forces and Corps.
The feature highlights the company's most recent milestone: the inclusion of GESCOM VCS G5/G5A in the Catalogue of ICT Security Products and Services (CPSTIC) of Spain's National Cryptologic Centre (CCN). GESCOM VCS G5/G5A is RF Española's vehicular communications system, fully designed and manufactured in Spain. In addition, the CCN has authorised its use to protect NATO Restricted classified information, and the system is in the process of being added to NATO's NIAPC catalogue. This places RF Española among the small group of manufacturers whose tactical solutions are recognised within the Alliance.
The article also reviews the GESCOM VCS family of communications managers, in service with Spanish Army units. These systems act as a tactical router that encrypts and routes voice and data over the most suitable transmission medium: HF, VHF, UHF, satellite or radio links. Alongside them, the TACNET ecosystem includes the GESCOM SIM simulator, which allows tactical deployments to be planned and rehearsed in virtual environments before they reach the field.
Among the new developments, the feature focuses on the NEXO project, the first soldier personal radio fully developed and manufactured in Spain. NEXO is based on SDR technology, uses a sovereign waveform and is currently at the prototype stage.
The article also recalls RF Española's presence at the Eurosatory international exhibition. There, the company showcased GESCOM VCS G5 integrated into platforms from UROVESA (VAMTAC) and General Dynamics European Land Systems, before defence delegations and organisations from numerous countries.
RF Española also appears in this edition of the yearbook with a page dedicated to TACNET (p. 55), its ecosystem of encrypted tactical solutions accredited in Spain and by NATO, which brings together GESCOM VCS, GESCOM SIM, NEXO and the company's encryption solutions.
